I was so excited when I saw the Fresh Start breakfast door hang available at the Westin hotel. It had a picture of a scrumptious looking yogurt and fruit parfait, and on the bottom right corner had the comforting SuperFood Rx icon to signal how healthy the room service breakfast menu would be. However, when I turned the door hang over to the other side to look at the menu options, only 2 items had the SuperFood Rx icon next to them. And drum roll please, the two items are: Orange Juice and V8! That’s it out of some 20 different menu items.

 

The marketing is brilliant, but incredibly manipulative giving you a false sense of confidence on the nutrient value of the menu options. Don’t fall for the marketing. Avoid falling for the marketing by asking yourself if it’s nouri. If it’s not, then ask yourself if it is really worth the damage. Use the Quick Food Choice Calculator if you didn’t bring your granola with you.  I wound up skipping the room service breakfast and having oatmeal at the coffee shop across street.
